Curiosity on Mars

At 6:31 on Monday morning, while London was waking up to another day of human endeavour, a robot car called Curiosity lowered itself from a skycrane onto the surface of Mars to begin its race for the biggest medal of all: Evidence that Mars could have supported life.

You can follow Curiosity’s progress via the NASA website or, better still, invite SciEnts’ newest troupe member Explorer Dome to bring the wonder of space exploration direct to your school classroom or science event.

Bringing a real astronomer into your classroom directly links personal experience between science and maths in school and what’s going on with the world outside.
